USO South Texas
Nancy Allen of the USO South Texas was referred to me by John Jagneaux of Corpus Christi Confidential Communications fame. They had an existing site that was maintained by a volunteer but wanted a face lift and a more dynamic interface.
At our planning meeting we decided that a CMS would be best. Front page, events page, photo gallery and donation cart. They also wanted a web master to update the content as required. There was a deadline defined for completion because they were having their annual fundraiser in just over a month. It was agreed that I would get a basic site up with fundraiser information and donation cart as soon as possible.
I found out on this project how quickly I can make a publish ready site. In less than a week I was able to meet all the requirements asked and went live. After that I added a director's blog and additional information modules.
The requirements for the design were simple, possibly a South Texas beach look. I was told that it did not need to be have a patriotic red, white and blue color scheme. I found a nice template that had a sand colored background and red and blue to match the USO logo. Everyone on the USO board liked my first basic design so we stayed with it. USO provided the logo(s).
